A Life Between Land and Water
 

Meet Rebecca and Alex - two sailors who fell in love over dock beers, spontaneous trips and long nights under the stars...

They didn't plan to fall in love on a dock, but that's exactly what happened.

Alex had been a full-time liveaboard sailor for years. Rebecca grew up boating but had never sailed before... until she bought her first sailboat to help her navigate the journey of healing. They met there - two people who spent a lot of nights sitting in the cockpit drinking cocktails and venting about life.

Then they took a spontaneous trip to Iceland for the summer solstice, and somewhere between waterfalls and days with no night, their friendship turned into something more.

Rebecca moved aboard Alex's Nautical Development Offshore 40, sold her Pearson 30, and they began planning cruising fulltime together. But life had other plans. Family responsibilities called them to slow down, so they found a little cabin in the mountains - a quiet home base where they could garden, rest and root themselves when they weren't on the water.

Now they split their time between mountain soil and lake waves. And it turns out, they like it that way!

The Rooted Sailor was born from this rhythm. It's a way of crafting a lifestyle that doesn't need escaping - blending canvas, wood, and dirt under their fingernails. From custom marine work to small-batch handmade goods, they create pieces that reflect the life they love: slow, thoughtful, grounded and free.

They still plan on taking their ND40 to the coast. But until then, they are building a life worth anchoring into - one stitch, one seed, and one handmade item at a time.
